A Letter from Leadership

Denver Democrats,

As you know, this is my final month in three years serving as your County Secretary. It has been a tremendous honor to serve this community, and I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences. Over my terms, we accomplished great things—we kept all of our statewide Democrats elected, and even expanded the majorities in both the House and Senate. To be frank, that work is exhausting, and I’m looking forward to enjoying more time with my friends and family. That said, I cannot stress enough the importance of allowing someone with the capabilities and energy to help us move into next year, as we again face one of the most consequential elections of our lives.

I’d like to take a moment to thank our newly elected Secretary, Abe Kaul. He stepped up when I announced my resignation relatively quickly. While I’m confident in his ability to do the job sufficiently, I’d also like to note that it’s not just a title. Very often, the community will turn to you in times of need, on top of the responsibilities already handed to you by the rules of our beloved party. Be sure to keep an open mind and an even more open heart. It won’t be easy, but it is essential.

I’d also like to thank the current officers for our service together. In particular, I’d like to thank my Assistant Secretary, Emma Bliesener and First Vice-Chair, Leah Dean. These two often served as my most trusted friends and colleagues during my time in Denver. They are both vital women in this party, and I could not be more grateful for their love and friendship.

Lastly, I’d like to thank our Chair, James Reyes, for his leadership. For the entirety of my time as County Secretary, I served with James. Although we don’t always agree, I know his heart is in the right place, and he’s the exact leader this county party needs during these trying times. He’s accountable and is quick to ask how things can be done better. He’s a fine public servant, and I know he’ll bring us over the finish line come November 2024.

Thank you for all the love! Now get to work!

Democratically yours,

Adrian Felix
