Volunteer Info from the Party

Volunteer opportunities for the week of August 7 and weekend of August 12, 13

Help us Build a Better Colorado: Join the Colorado Democrats' People-to-People Canvassing Program

Hey Colorado: we're listening.

Here at the Colorado Democratic Party, we believe in the adage that all politics is local, and that the best ideas usually come from the bottom-up, not the top-down. That's why we're launching our People-to-People program and asking you to help us build a better Colorado. Instead of listening to the consultants or reading the polls, we want to hear directly from you and your neighbors about what's working and what's not.  Will you join us?

We're currently looking for volunteers in every community across the state to commit to going door-to-door to canvass and have in-depth conversations with people about their thoughts and priorities.  We want to ask the people directly and give voice to people to find out what they want to tell elected officials, what they want to see changed at the state or federal level, and how Colorado Democrats can do a better job responding to those concerns.
Please fill out this form with your information if you are willing to become a People-To-People volunteer, listen, connect with people in a meaningful way and lift up their voices and concerns to all Colorado candidates and elected officials.  When you sign up here, someone from the Colorado Democratic Party will contact you with more details about how to get involved.

(Volunteers will be trained and do not have to travel, unless they are willing to do so)
The People-to-People program is just one part of the Colorado Democratic Party's approach to organizing. This summer, the CDP is holding a 12-stop listening and training tour to make sure we're hearing from every corner of the state, and sharing best practices on how to get involved and make a difference.
Click here to participate in our feedback survey.

By helping to organize your neighbors, you have the power to change the Democratic Party and help us build a better Colorado together.

Thank you for all you do!

Colorado Democratic Party Chair Morgan Carrol
Put your video editing talent to work for our state house Democratic caucus!  If you can volunteer a few hours a week this summer (or beyond), you can help our Democratic members of the house of representatives get word out about affordable housing, healthcare, renewable energy, and other core priorities.  We need your help producing short videos for distribution via Facebook and other social media platforms.  It doesn't matter what editing software you like to use (e.g. iMovie, Final Cut, Premiere), just that you're interested to help out!  For more details or to get started please contact Kelly Watkins at [email protected]com.

We're looking for a committed person to assist Pat Shaver with leading the Outreach Project.
    As assistant you would:
    • Communicate regularly with the leads for individual constituencies
    • Lead conference calls with outreach leads
    • Communicate regularly with Pat Shaver
    • Collect and create spread sheet with events and organizations relevant to outreach groups
This is an ongoing project that will require 2-4 hours each week.
Please email me at [email protected]org

Do you play tennis? Or know someone who does? Pass on the flier below and the link to sign up:
But even if you don't play tennis everybody will have a great time. Come play pickle ball, mingle, enjoy our BBQ and bid on some awesome stuff in the silent auction. Kids are welcome, too, we have an all-sports program for them. Learn what the Colorado Dems are up to and how you can help!

    Volunteer Opportunities

Fellow Democrats, please read this invitation from our State Party Chair, Morgan Carroll:

You are receiving this email because you completed a volunteer profile indicating a willingness to help with outreach to one or more communities that will be important for the future of Colorado. (e.g. swing voters, base voters, youth, seniors, veterans, African-Americans, Latinos, Asian Pacific Islander, Labor, Small Business, Women, New Americans, Faith Communities etc.)

I am excited to announce a volunteer kickoff reception where we will be going over our specific outreach plans and the important role(s) our volunteers play in connecting in a meaningful way with all of Colorado and making sure everyone is included.  Our second vice-chair, Pat Shaver, will be the party’s lead on outreach efforts and she has the full support of all of us working with her.  Join Pat and Morgan for our official outreach launch.

Date, Time: Thursday, July 13, from 6-9pm
    Colorado Democratic Party Headquarters

House District 2A is looking for a co-captain, are you interested?
Interested in a leadership position with the Democratic Party of Denver?  House District 2A is looking for a co-captain.

Help us run monthly meetings, coordinate Get Out The Vote (GOTV) efforts, run caucus and serve on the Party's executive committee. Colorado will be a critical swing state in the 2018 and 2020 elections. Be part of the movement to turn our state Blue!

Please contact Ruth Clevenger at [email protected] to learn more. See more info on how the party is organized in Denver here. Link to HD2 A & B map is here.

Background on the position: The Party, in turn, divides each House District into two sub districts (A and B) to make the tasks we perform more manageable.  This gives the entire County 16 subdivisions to help with Party organization. Each sub district has an elected Captain, Co-Captain and Finance Chair - a total of 48 positions.  Each of these elected officers serves on the Executive Committee, which meets monthly. During those meetings, members of the Executive Committee receive information to relay to the members of their sub district, vote on resolutions and the annual operating budget, and discuss and form pertinent issues to the future success of the DPoD.
