We post this morning with heavy hearts.

Cecilia Flores, a wonderful lady, HD5B co-captain, and a vocal and tireless advocate for change and Democratic values, passed away yesterday in Denver.

Cecilia seemed to always "be there." Whether it was a voter registration drive, an executive committee meeting, or work in and around her beloved House District 5, you could count on her to show up and enthusiastically do the work of the party she loved. Cecilia was a Secretary to the State Latino Initiative, received the Cesar Chavez Leadership Award, and was a delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. In 2013, Cecilia was honored with a well-earned Lifetime Achievement Award at the E.M. Kennedy Dinner, tangible evidence of a life well-spent in the pursuit of Democratic values.

Cecilia made the city of Denver a better place. She will be missed for her joyous, boundless enthusiasm, her kind words, and her presence.
