Denver Public Schools
We believe that basic Democratic principles—civic responsibility, inclusion, fact-based learning and decision-making—are critical to our schools. And that’s why we care about the Denver Public Schools Board of Education.
A few facts:

The Board takes on strategic planning, accountability for student achievement and advocacy for the needs of all students at every level

Of its seven (volunteer, unpaid) members, five are elected by voters within five regions, two are elected at large from across the city. They serve for four years, in staggered elections.

Denver is Colorado’s largest school district. And where Denver leads, the state often follows
